In the last few years we’ve witnessed a surge in interest in innovating in and with the so called emergent economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China (B.R.I.C). However, as company’s start to expand and consolidate their early growth, it’s clear that breakthrough product successes can’t, and won’t, just come from the direction of developed world. Similarly, it is over simplistic to say that opportunities can be designed to flow neatly from the former into the latter (or vice-versa) with little or no translation towards local needs.
So when we consider the topic of Innovating in the B.R.I.C economies, what’s interesting to note is not just the top-line growth prospects, but also the fundamentals that drive longer term commercial opportunities. This Webinar will take India as a case through which to examine this point. Here, innovation has been born of scarcity, delivering with it levels of ingenuity, resourcefulness and drive that are increasingly hard to find in European or US company frameworks.
So while the emerging markets may still be immature (by Western standards) when it comes to established ecosystems for innovation or corporate capabilities, what they do provide is a level of entrepreneurialism and richness that Western innovators would do well to learn from.
In a revealing and insightful Webinar Jatin DeSai will present his unique ‘foot in both camps’ perspective on what it takes to partner with India and what emerging-market innovators can offer Western companies. With a detailed knowledge of India’s current innovation capabilities – strengths and weaknesses he will deliver a unique collection of insights into how best to create sustainable collaborations and an expanded innovation footprint in India
If you consider innovating with India (or other B.R.I.C. economies) as supply chain, manufacturing, sales or non-innovation related issue, remember that since 2008, emerging economies have been spending more on R&D than both the US and Europe!
